Clean Water Fund

In November of 2008, Minnesota voters approved the Clean Water, Land and Legacy Amendment which increased the sales and use tax rate by three-eights of one percent on taxable sales through 2034.  Of those funds, approximately one third is dedicated to a Clean Water Fund to protect, enhance, and restore water quality in lakes, rivers, streams, and groundwater, with at least five percent of the fund targeted to protect drinking water sources.
